Starman

Starman is actually Terik Nol, a low level adminstrator from an alien planet that fell in love with the human culture through the radio and television signals that were able to reach his planet.  These depictions of human live resonated around the 1930's through the 1950's and therefore a totally different culture than actually exists now.  He comes to Earth illegally, since our planet is quarantined by the Interstellar Federation.  Not knowing that the Earth had any form of space programs, his ship is struck by a piece of space debris and he crash lands in the wilderness just outside of San Francisco. 

 

He discovers that his perceived notions about human culture are going to be challenged and things do not work out the way he would like them.  Terik decides to masquerade as a Superhero by using his technology, but even this does not work out as planned.  Even though he always sees hope in every story.  He cannot go home or call for help for he would be seen as a criminal and be sent to a penal colony.
